Peruvian-American Soprano Sophia Formella holds a Master of Music Degree in Opera Performance from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Sophia also holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education from the Frost School of Music at University of Miami. Most recently, Sophia performed the role of Cendrillon in Cendrillon by Pauline Viardot as a Young Artist with Nightingale Opera Theatre in June 2024 and with Opera Arlington in November 2024. Sophia has also performed in the chorus of The Dallas Opera productions. Sophia performed the title role of Alice in the premiere of ALICE by Amy Scurria with Red River Lyric Opera in 2023. Sophia currently works as a Teaching Artist with The Metropolitan Opera Education Department.
