Callie Meikrantz
Soprano
Callie Meikrantz is a lyric soprano, currently based in Boston, Massachusetts. Most recently, Callie covered the role of First Lady in MassOpera’s production of Mozart’s Magic Flute. Callie appeared as Mrs. Gleaton in The Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s production of Susannah. She also appeared as Lady Billows in the Conservatory’s production of Albert Herring, as well as covering the role of Vitellia in the Conservatory’s production of La clemenza di Tito. Ms. Meikrantz was a finalist in the MassOpera Vocal Competition in Boston and came in third place. She appeared in VOX New England’s role study of Le Nozze di Figaro as The Countess Almaviva. She is a former core member of the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh and the Grand Rapids Symphony Youth Chorus. Callie was a recipient of the Douglas A. and Susan K. Browne Scholarship at Grove City College, where she was also a winner of the college concerto competition. Callie was a Voice Fellow at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival’s OperaFest, as well as studied at the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria and at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's opera-intensive program. Callie received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Grove City College, where she studied under Sasha Piastro-Tedford. Notable credits during her time at Grove City College include soprano soloist in Vivaldi’s Gloria and in Handel’s Messiah, and Fiona MacLaren in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Brigadoon. She earned her master’s degree in Voice Performance from The Boston Conservatory of Music where she studied with Kerry Deal.
