CROpera's April 2019 world premiere production of The Grant Wood Operas: Strokes of Genius will be featured on Iowa Public Radio's "At the Opera with IPR" Saturday, November 2 at 8 pm and again Sunday, November 3 at 4 pm. The Grant Wood Operas: Strokes of Genius features three original one-act operas by Iowa composers Robert Lindsay Nassif (American Gothical), Jean-Francois Charles (Grant Wood in Paris), and Michael Ching (Eight Woods and a Van). The IPR recording took place at Theater Cedar Rapids on April 14, 2019. Tenor Nicholas Nestorak sings the role of Grant Wood in all three works. Other principal cast include: Thaddeus Ennen, Jessica Grigg, Melanie Long, Jessica Pray, Jhe Russell and Alex Soare. CROpera Young Artists included in this production include: Elizabeth Barry, Jay Burken, Avery Felton, Bryce Genovese, Vincent Gover, and Braeden W. Irvine.
